Educator Patty Schmucker

NLCA Educates at ISSE “Are you Ready for Consumers’ Demand for Green Cosmetics” Class description- Consumer real demands and what they are willing to pay. Definitions you need to know. How to read packaging. Certifications and which are important. Creating services that build client loyalties. Why medi spas should have at least one green cosmetic option. DoshaCare is 98% Natural & Organic – other natural and organic lines start with natural and organic ingredients and attempt to create result oriented skin care. We approached it differently. We recognized that the best skin care is skincare that is used regularly and this will only happen if the consumer sees results. We researched and determine that there are three extreme skin conditions that motivate consumers to seek skin care products. Dry, Sensitive and Oily skin. We formulated first using the most advanced cosmetic chemistry breakthroughs to achieve formulas that give visible results. Once we had these formulas we went to our arsenal of natural and organic ingredients and swapped out everything we could. The result is skin care that is both natural and organic and works.

This class will provide the Salon Owner and Hairstylist two different
perspectives to help establish and run a business:

1) An introduction to success based business principals.

2) A practical discussion by an experienced industry practitioner.

We will look at the salon owner and stylist as "partners" in each
other's success. Growing a successful business requires an
understanding of concepts that are rarely used and understood in the
industry. Owning a chair or owning a salon must be seen as a unique
opportunity with unique challenges where both entities must coexist to
survive and prosper.

For the salon owner, an introduction of cost benefit and break even
analysis, understanding costs from a unique perspective- namely,
identifying floor and shelf space as a valuable assets. When does it
make sense to take on a product line and when does it not. Learn how
to make the business more profitable by finding new unexplored
opportunities.

For the stylist, the individual will learn how to evaluate the highest
and best use of time (effective utlilzation). Our programs will
divulge the "real costs" of down-time during the work day, and steps
that stylists can take to minimize this cost by investing in, and
improving themselves.

The session will then be turned over to an experienced practioner - a
former salon owner and now a recognized stylist and co-inventor of
"The Level Comb". The students will hear a very personal experience,
and how this individual's time was used to expand his personal
knowledge and professional opportunity.

Growing a successful business requires a vision and an open mind to
explore new prospects in the hair industry. This revolutionary
'counter-culture' program promises to guide both the students and professional in that.
